The Basics

Star Wars: Imperial Shadows MUSH (or just 'IS MUSH') is a text-based online roleplaying game set in the Rebellion era of the Star Wars universe. For a primer on what a MUSH is, and how they are played, please refer to MUSH 101.

Our focus is the planet Lothal in the Outer Rim Territories. Our timeline begins 0 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin), just after the Empire has been defeated and sent fleeing from what is now an ecologically ruined and resource-stripped world. Newly liberated by the Spectres, an early cell of the Rebellion, Lothal now faces an uncertain future as a 'Free World' (the events surrounding Lothal's liberation are the subject of the Disney animated series Star Wars Rebels). Although no longer dominant, the Empire's influence continues to be felt, Imperial Shadows cast upon a world in fear of its return.

However, Peace remains a Lie. Many pro-Imperial corporations have not fled, remote factories churning out military hardware at a reduced rate and with reduced security. The underworld, so often moving in ways beneficial to the Emperor, continues to thrive upon a world that had become dependent upon its services. Rebel cells and agents continue to fight the Empire's influence, even as the Rebellion's attention remains focused elsewhere in the galaxy. And in between all of these conflicting powers, hundreds of millions of civilians brave the chaos, take sides, and live for tomorrow.
