Star Wars: Imperial Shadows MUSH (IS MUSH) is a text-based online roleplaying game set in the Rebellion era of the Star Wars universe. For an introduction to MUSH games and how they are played, please refer to our "MUSH 101" guide.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away...
Our story unfolds on Lothal, a planet in the Outer Rim Territories, just after the Empire's retreat from the now ecologically ruined and resource-stripped world. Newly liberated by the Spectres, an early Rebel cell featured in the animated series Star Wars Rebels, Lothal now faces an uncertain future as a 'Free World'. Although the Empire's direct control has waned, the weight of its influence continues to be felt, Imperial Shadows cast upon a world in fear of its potential return.
However, peace remains elusive. Many pro-Imperial corporations have not fled, their remote factories producing military hardware despite supply and security difficulties. Rebel cells and agents diligently counter the shadowy forces of Imperial Intelligence, even as the Rebellion's attention remains focused on the wider war erupting throughout the galaxy. The underworld thrives, capitalizing on a planet that has grown reliant on its illicit services. Amidst all of these competing powers, countless civilians brave the chaos, take sides, and strive for survival.
Current Year: 1 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin, prior to A New Hope). The Death Star has not yet been destroyed. The Empire is ascendant, and even if Lothal has been freed from direct military control the Emperor's reach is far, and strong, and the shadow he casts is deep.
